The Villa · The area

A bungalow on the southwest shore.

Maeva Hoa sits on a hillside above the lagoon in Fa'Anui, on the quieter southwest side of Bora Bora. It's a two-minute walk to the water and a five-minute drive to the village. From the balcony, you look out over thatched overwater bungalows and the brilliant turquoise of the lagoon, with Mt. Otemanu rising behind the island.

The bungalow itself is three bedrooms, three bathrooms, sleeping six — a luxury home, not a hotel room. There's a fully-equipped kitchen, a covered terrace for sunset dinners, multiple Smart TVs with Apple TV, separate A/C in every bedroom, fast WiFi, and beach gear at the door (kayaks, snorkels, umbrellas).

Fa'Anui is where locals live. Less polished than the resort coast, more authentic. You'll wake to roosters and a mountain breeze; afternoons mean lagoon swimming, snorkeling, or running into village kids on bikes. Restaurants, the airport boat dock, and Vaitape (the main town) are all a short scooter or car ride away.
